Marakele Tented Camp Safari (1 night)

After breakfast at Temba Safari we drive towards Marakele National Park 2.5 hours drive away (check-in time 12:00).
Marakele National Park is located in the southwestern part of the mountain range with the highest point Vulture Hill (2,088 m) towering over the park. This 55,000 hectare fairyland is home to most of the larger animals in South Africa.

We drive to Tlopi tent camp located next to large waterholes in the Big Five area. The tents are on platforms, each with its own bathroom. There is a kitchen and barbecue on the beautiful terrace, which faces the water hole.

Then it’s time for accommodation — while a much-needed lunch is being prepared. Afterwards there is a game drive in Temba’s own bus with Francois as guide. We return to our camp before sunset and take a seat on the deck with a refreshment while we await the animals and birds that visit the watering hole before sunset. Then we get ready for a barbecue under the stars, and with the sounds of the night we slowly settle down.

The next morning we get up early and visit the famous Vulture Hill, and then the tour goes through an area with around 800 breeding pairs of Cape vultures. The ride up is almost as amazing as the view itself.

After breakfast we check out and arrive at Temba Safari at lunchtime.
